Upon completion of the connector setup, you will be provided with two links to your data set: Tableau WDC and OData. These serve as distinct methods for importing data from Jira into Tableau Desktop:

To import data into Tableau Desktop, just follow these straightforward steps:

  1. Copy the URL of the connector you're using (Tableau WDC or OData).

  2. Open Tableau Desktop.

  3. Select either the Web Data Connector or OData option.

  4. Paste the copied URL into the provided input field.

  5. Input your Jira username (email) and password (API Token), then click on ‘Login and Export’.

  6. Tableau Desktop will begin the data import process.

  7. Once the import is complete, the data will be accessible in Tableau Desktop for analysis and reporting.
